South Africa – March 2014
Karen’s first overseas ride, and Vince & Karen’s first overseas ride together – South Africa March 2014 was a three week exploration of the Western Cape aboard a hired BMW R1200GS. Along the rest of the Laos Beer Drinking Team – Kevin, Trevor, Dave and Ian, Vince and pillion Karen rode out of Cape Town heading NE into the Great Karoo as far as Sutherland, before turning SE and making for the coast at Knysna and then returning to Cape Town along the scenic Garden Route.

India (Himalayas) – June 2013
Joining Atul’s Indian Motorycle Tours group ride, Vince spent three weeks aboard a hired 500cc Royal Enfield Bullet riding from the hill station Shimla in NW India across the Rohtang Pass up to Leh, Ladakh Province, before pushing slightly further north to Khardung La, renowned as the highest motorable pass in the world.
Laos – March 2011
At the conclusion of a six day guided offroad ride thru western Laos with the ‘Laos Beer Drinking Team’ (Kevin, son Trevor, Dave & Ian) led by Yee from Remote Asia Travel, Vince spent an additional 18 days on a solo ride thru northern Laos.

Vietnam – March 2010
Inspired by Top Gear’s ‘Vietnam Special’ – this two week ride in North Vietnam with riding mates Rob and Gary was Vince’s first introduction to riding overseas. On rented HondaGL160cc road bikes, we rode NW from Hanoi up to Sapa, close to the border with China, before taking an overnight train trip from Lao Cai down to Yen Bai, where we continued our riding adventure by pushing on to Halong Bay, destination of the Top Gear team.
